Funeral for Hellen Lena Blackwelder, 94, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Becker Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Don Barnes officiating.
Mrs. Blackwelder died Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, in a Lawton nursing center.
Burial will be in Cache Cemetery.
She was born April 8, 1915, in Walters, to James Louis and Minnie Lee McNeil Snyder. She was a 1933 graduate of Cache High School. She married Roy Zinn Blackwelder on March 9, 1935 in Lawton. He died May 7, 1964. She worked in civil service at Fort Sill Reynolds Army Community Hospital, and retired after 20 years. She was a member of Lawton First Assembly of God, Pioneer Club, Southwestern Oklahoma Historical Society, Southwest Oklahoma Genealogical Society and a member-in-good-standing of the Holy City/Wichita Mountains.
Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law: Louise Choat, Lawton; Jeanne and Richard Silva, Ormond Beach, Fla.; and Kathy and Greg McCracken, Oklahoma City; seven grandchildren: Ranae Choat-Phillips, Mark Choat, Chris Silva, Cindy Silva-Hillman, Erin McCracken, Caden McCracken and Logan McCracken; seven great-grandchildren: Asa Terrill, Toni Phillips,
Grady Silva-Kenner, Lucas Silva, Skyler Silver-Hillman, Summer Silva-Hillman, Aaron Choat; and three step great-grandchildren: Aaron Phillips, Kevin Phillips and Joshua Phillips; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son-in-law, Ronnie Choat, a grandson, Tony Choat; and a brother and three sisters.
