Salome Snyder was the daughter of Henry Snyder and his wife Mary Restler. The 1870 Census shows her birth year as 1823 and lists her as 47 years old at that time. She had 2 older brothers and 3 sisters:
Simon Snyder, born September 23, 1811 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania:
Henry Snyder, born about 1822;
Catherine Snyder;
Mary Snyder; and
Elizabeth Snyder.

Salome Snyder married Enoch Blackwell Chritton on October 8, 1841 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had seven children:
Urah Jane Chritton, born about 1843, who married Daniel Rensler Wells;
Cynthia Ann Chritton, born about 1848, who married Frank N Moore;
William George Critton, born January 2, 1850 in Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana, who married Elizabeth Hawke;
Rachael Ellen Chritton, born about 1855 in Illinois, who married Samuel Wellington Barrett;

Mary Elmina Chritton, born about 1859 in Illinois, who married Samuel W Beaver; and
Bodessa May Chritton, born about 1863 in Illinois, who married Charles J Wollen.

The family moved to Saunders County, Nebraska in the spring of 1865. Salome was an invalid at that time and made the trip in the back of a wagon on a bed. See the excellent article on the Enoch B Chritton family at http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~nesaunde/1983hist/saco83-p215.html

Salome died in 1874 and Enoch buried her on 2 acres at the treeline in what was known as the Pioneer Cemetery, now known as the Chritten-Barrett Cemetery. Both Enoch and Salome are listed as buried there at the following web address:
