Gladys A. Crabtree, 81, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Samaritan Care Center in Medina after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 22, 1920, near Wilmot, Ohio, to Jacob and Caroline Snyder (Gardner). Gladys moved to Canton in 1940, where she was an active member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and worked at Aultman Hospital, until her retirement in 1984. She and her husband moved to Medina in 1997 to be near her daughter. She is survived by her husband, Ira A. Crabtree, a resident of Samaritan Care Center; daughter, Caroline ; son, Richard Crabtree ; grandson, Jonathan ; and granddaughters, Kristen Erica and Kathryn . She also is survived by her brothers, Lester and Ivan Snyder; sister, Dorothy (Norman) Albright; and 14 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Paul Snyder; and sister-in-law, Margaret Snyder. A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched. Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reed Funeral Home, 705 Raff Road SW, Canton. Burial: Greenlawn Cemetery in Wilmot.
