The only one of Rev. Snow's children who didn't marry, Aunt Freda was beloved by all her nephews and nieces. She studied at Colby College, Waterville, Maine and at Gordon College, then in Boston, Massachusetts and earned her MA from Columbia University. She taught at a Baptist college in Marshall, Texas; the school was founded by Baptist missionaries to teach freed Blacks. She later taught English, Greek and Latin. She also served for a time on Matinicus Island as both minister and teacher under the auspices of the Maine Seacoast Mission. In her later years she owned and operated a guest house in Bar Harbor.
