Marjorie (Snow) Edson, 87, of Abington died May 10, 2014, at her home surrounded and cared for by her loving family. They were assisted by the Hospice of the South Shore. Marjorie was born in Abington, daughter of the late Roland and Emma (Snow) Turner and was a lifelong resident of the town. Mrs. Edson had been an employee of the Foxboro Company as a processor for many years. She served as a school crossing guard in Abington for many years and enjoyed her skills of retouching photographs for several local photographers. An active member of the United Church of Christ in Abington, she was a Meals on Wheels volunteer and had served as the treasurer for the Abington Senior Citizens. Marjorie had served as a Girl Scout leader in Abington and was a member of the 20 Ts Beach Buggy Club, the Massachusetts Beach Buggy Association and she enjoyed camping at the Jolly Fox Campground in Foxboro. Wife of the late Harry Edson, she was the mother of Janice Harrington and her husband Robert of Ohio, Peter Edson and his wife Christine of Abington and the late Harry Dean Edson. She was the sister of the late Russell and George Snow and Barbara Evans. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. The Edson family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Marjorie's life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St., Rockland, Thursday, May 15, from 5-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday, May 16, at 11:30 a.m. in the United Church of Christ in Abington. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Abington. Donations in her memory may be made to the Abington Senior Center, 441 Summer St., Abington, MA 02351.
