Mary Theresa Baker, 88, "flew up on the wings of angels" to be with Our Lord on Sunday morning, May 17, 2009. She was born to Charles and Anne Snook on Dec. 8, 1920, the fifth of nine children: six brothers and two sisters. She was a life-time resident of Vancouver, WA. Mary attended Providence Academy and Vancouver High School class of 1939.
Mary is survived by two brothers, Charles Snook of Mexico and Gordon Snook of Vancouver; son, Gary Baker and daughter, Pat Kadow boh of Vancouver; five grandchildren, Kaaryn Frank, Ryan Baker of Vancouver, Saron Sufuentes, Megan Wiesneski of Portland, OR and Kacy Kadow of Bellingham, WA; 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her death was her husband, best friend and love of her life in 2004. They spent nearly 65 years together and passed away on the same Sunday five years apart.
Mary helped her family in all ways that she could, and enjoyed her time with family and friends throughout her life.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandma. Her son, daughter and grandchildren were of utmost importance to her.
Her hobbies were her family and being at the river and outdoors. She was an avid talk radio listener, and TV talk as well. She kept up on politics and religion issues. She was an "Obama Grandma" this past year! She enjoyed many good times at the cabin on the banks of the Lewis River. Her favorite pasta dish she liked to make for gatherings was "Johnny Mazetti".
"We'll miss you, Mom, We love you, Give Dad a kiss for us."
In celebration of her life, a rosary will be said at 11:40 a.m. with a memorial Mass to follow at 12:10 p.m. on Friday, June 5, 2009 at St. James Church, 12th and Columbia St., Vancouver, WA. Inurnment will be at Mother Joseph's Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice South West or charity of your choice.
