Mrs. Srah e. Brooks, 88, died at the hospital last night at 11 o'clock after a long illness. She was the widow of Charles T. Brooks, who was sheriff of Calhoun County from 1911 to 1915.
The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon. Burial in Edgemont Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Miss Carmellia Brooks and Mrs. Leona Gill, both of Anniston; three sons, Joseph S. and H. C. Brooks, both of Anniston, and J. T. Brooks of Talladega; two sisters, Mrs. Della Hicks of Choccolocco, and Mrs. D. P. Sparks of Corona, Calif.; one brother, James W. Snider of Choccolocco; eight grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
Mrs. Brooks had been a resident of Calhoun County all her life and was a member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church.
