PASSAGE. Hazel Marlene Snelson Banks, 73, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007. Marlene was born August 14, 1933, to Marl and Verrena Snelson in Springville, Utah. She married Fred Ray Banks on May 30, 1949, and they were later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple. Marlene was a homemaker who loved playing games and cards, and doing arts and crafts. She owned her own business, Marlene's Ceramics and Crafts. She enjoyed helping children; she took in foster children and worked at Reese School as a Grandparent Helper. She loved being a grandmother to her eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Marlene is survived by her children, Christina (Ron) Hales of Palmyra and Ray (Spring) Banks of Palmyra; one brother, Dean Snelson of Provo, and one sister, Norma Hatfield of Springville; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and three grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at 12:00 p.m. in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 420 South 400 East, Spanish Fork, Utah. Published in the Daily Herald on 6/10/2007
