Living at 1066 2nd Avenue South, Nashville, Janie was 38 years old when she died, the result of peritonitis, on December 7, 1941 at Nashville's Vanderbilt Hospital where she had been for 66 days. Burial was two days later in Mount Ararat Cemetery, Nashville.
