Mary enjoyed shopping and visiting friends. She also loved going to church and playing bingo on Friday nights. Mary believed that all clothes needed to be ironed with no exceptions. She was an amazing cook and loved making homemade pies and blackberry cobblers. Unfortunately, her children did not inherit this trait. Mary volunteered many hours of her time at the Cleveland Manor Nursing Home. Mary loved going to garage sales and traveling. She loved to visit her home state of North Carolina and returning to Holden Beach. Even though once there she would only go into the water ankle deep. Mary would always have the time of her life walking on the beach and visiting with her brothers and sisters. Mary was very adamant about the list she would make; as well as very insistent of what needed to be done before you left the house. Further more, sleeping in past 8:00 o'clock at her home was not highly thought of. Mary enjoyed going and was always on the go. The past few years were very hard for her due to the fact she still wanted to go, but her body wouldn't allow it.
