Addie A. Smith, widow of Frank Smith of this town, passed away at the Damon Nursing Home, Auburn, February 22. She was born May 1, 1855, the second of six children of Joshua and Abbie Friend Phoenix of Alfred.

She married Frank Smith of Waterboro May 1, 1877, and lived on the Smith homestead, Waterboro Old Corner, until after her husband passed away June 11, 1917.

Three sons were born to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Walter C., now deceased, Ivory H. of this town, and Everett P., for the past 20 years principal of Leavitt Institute, Turner Center.

She is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Before her marriage, Mrs. Smith was a member of the Methodist Church of Alfred and after coming to Waterboro joined the First Baptist Church of Waterboro Old Corner of which she was a member at the time of her death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Blaisdell Memorial Church, Waterboro, Sunday by the Rev. Lester C. Holmes.
