Mrs. William W. Gavin
Mrs. Nellie L. Gavin, 85, of the John B. Parsons Home, died Thursday at Peninsula General Hospital after a short illness.
Her husband, William W. Gavin, died in 1945. She was a retired Wicomico County school teacher. Mrs. Gavin was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and a past Matron of Wicomico Chapter No. 91, Order of the Eastern Star.
Born in Salisbury, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Mrs. E. Miller Smith. Surviving are three grandchildren; a sister, Miss Louise Smith, Richmond, Va., and several nieces and nephews. Two late sons were Richard L. Gavin, who died in 1930, and William W. Gavin Jr., who died in 1959.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home here. The Rev. John Brittain will officiate. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery.
