Clinton "Kingfish" Smith, 68, of Russell Springs, died Sunday,March 23, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY.

Funeral services for Clinton "Kingfish" Smith will be 1pmCT, Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Billy Silverman officiating. Friends may call after 5pmCT, Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Burial will be in the Square Oak Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Mark Barnett, Darron Barnett, Joe McQueary, John McQueary, Kevin Mitchell, Rodney Garrett, Adam Garrett, and Dakota Goodin.


He was born Tuesday, October 2, 1945 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of to late Alvin "Pat" & Lillie Foster Smith. He died Sunday, March 23, 2014, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 68 years, 5 months, and 21 days.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Stan Cross and a great great grandchild, Storm Garrett.

Survivors include the following:

•His wife: Ida Mae Cole Smith, Russell Springs, KY.

•Four children: Diania Garrett, Albany, KY; Vindia Goodin, Russell Springs, KY; Billie Daniel, Edmonton, KY; Hope Cross, Columbia, KY.

•Six grandchildren.

•Eight great grandchildren.

•Three great great grandchildren.

•Five sisters: Ellene Barnett, Mary Lou West, Beatrice West, and Vern McQueary, all of Russell Springs KY; and Millie Mullins, Somerset, KY.
