Leona, age 90, passed away at Hiawatha Community Hospital. She was the daughter of Walter Alexander and Bessie Emma (Ackerson) Smith. She married Jacob Fielding McKay on July 10, 1935, in Sparks, Kansas. She married William Harness some time after Jacob's death in 1980; William died soon after their marriage. She was preceded in death by both husbands, her parents, her sons, Michael Dee McKay and Phillip Eugene McKay, and her siblings, Lucy Smith, Elnora Sansom, Clifford Smith and Bert Smith. She is survived by her children, Paula Whitacre, David McKay, Timothy McKay, and Jacob McKay, 12 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and her brother, Herman Smith. A celebration of life was held at Highland Christian Church. Burial was in Highland Cemetery.
