Karen married George Gilbert Smith on February 14,1960 at Highland Kan. They moved from St Joseph to Wathena Kan in 1968.
Karen was a LPN, a member of the United Methodist Church in Wathena, and the UMW of the Church She was preceded in death by her parents.
