She was raised in the Mulberry and Ford communities and graduated from Ford High School in 1933. After their marriage they lived in Ford County until 1945 moving to southwest Hodgeman county where they farmed until 1981 moving to Dodge City,KS.
She was a member of Grace Community Church of Dodge City,KS.
Survivors are one son, Raymond of Garden City and two daughters, Nina DuPree and Sharon Saunders both of Dodge City,KS; sister, Jessie Mae Askew of Dodge City and one brother Harold Smith of Miles City, Montana; one daughter-in-law Shelby Mayfield of Jetmore,KS; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Ronald E. Mayfield on July 4,1999.
