Cleao Joy Smith, age 84, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at her residence in Snyder, Texas.
Family visitation will be on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 5 pm to 6 pm at Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Funeral service is scheduled for Monday, December 16, 2013 at 2 pm in the Wright Colonial Funeral Home Chapel with LaQuita Jones, Pastor of Trinity Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens under the direction of Wright Colonial Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith was born on July 25, 1929 in Ralls, Texas to Earl (Happy) and Susan Ellis Smith. She grew up in Ira and graduated from Ira High School. She married J.P. Smith on July 25, 1950 in Lovington, New Mexico. She was a housewife and enjoyed quilt making, crocheting, and sewing. She was also a member of Union Methodist Church.
Survivors include: Her husband, J.P. Smith of Snyder, Texas; One Son, Gary P. Smith of Snyder, Texas; Two Granddaughters, Dana Sue Johnson and Darla Kay McCarter, both of Dallas, Texas; Five Grandsons; James Preston Smith of Dallas, Texas, John David Smith and James Allen Smith, both of Snyder, Texas, Rusty Earl Smith of Cedar Park, Texas, and Logan Ray Smith of Jal, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Earl (Happy) and Susan Smith; By Two Sons, James Patrick Smith and Raymond Smith. She was also preceded in death by several Brothers and Sisters.
