John Edward Clinton, 79, quietly passed away May 21, 2007, and his loving wife Muriel Smith Clinton, 85, joined him eternally May 29, 2007. Mr. Clinton was a native of Williamsburg, Ky., a member of Churchland Baptist Church, a retired Marine Corps veteran of World Ward II, Korea and Vietnam and a Purple Heart recipient. He also retired from Electrolux Corporation, having served as a branch manager. John was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Knights Templar. Mrs. Clinton was a native of St. James Long Island, N.Y. and a former member of the Order of Eastern Star. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton are survived by daughter, Katrina Balmakhtar and husband Mohamed of Vero Beach, Fla.; two sons, Harley D. Clinton and wife Dorothy of Texas and John E. Clinton and wife Leslie of Chambersburg, Pa.; two sisters, Virginia Wise of Denver, Colo. and June Brown of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Harley, Joseph, Mark and Christopher Clinton; a niece, Eva Shelly; and a nephew, John Lapaham. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel by the Rev. Lawrence B. Coleman and Dr. Dan Koger. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Churchland Baptist Church.
