"A native of Texas, she lived in the Durham area intermittently for the past 50 years. Before returning to Durham in 1964, Mrs. Deveney lived in Sacramento and was employed at McClellan Air Force Base. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Durham.
"Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Gladys Wideriksen of Durham, and numerous nieces and nephews.
