David was born Feb. 18, 1959, in Fort Worth to Robert L. and Nancy Dee Carter Smith. He married Brenda Gail Coffer on Nov. 10, 1979, in Fort Worth. He was an aircraft mechanic for Lockheed. David was a 3rd-degree Mason and a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and play golf. He always had a project going, and he loved to garden. David was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Smith Tittle.
Survivors: Wife, Brenda Smith of Granbury; sons, Dusty Smith and Terry Smith, both of Granbury; grandson, Garrett Smith of Abilene; father, Robert L. Smith and wife, Helen, of Victoria; brother, Danny Smith of Victoria; mother-in-law, Nellie Coffer of Fort Worth; one aunt; two cousins; one niece; and lots of friends.
