PORTLAND- Services for Sylvia A. Carbaugh who died February 5, 2009 in Portland, Oregon will be held at 2 p.m. Tues., February 17, 2009 at Willamette National Cemetery.
Mrs. Carbaugh was born August 14, 1911 to Hans and Elsie Smith in Shelby County, Iowa. She graduated from Harlan High School in 1929. She taught for 6 years in a one room country school house in Iowa during the 1930's.
In 1945 she married HARVEY CARBAUGH, he died in 1995.
She was a long time member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the church.
Survivors are her brother, Raymond Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; and friends who will miss her very much.
