Ila was born on June 1, 1930 in Waurika, Oklahoma, to Mitchell and Virginia Smith. While in high school she met the love of her life, Robert C. (Bob) Bodenhamer and they were married in Waurika on June 17, 1949. Ila was the consummate homemaker. She was a great cook, displayed impeccable taste and possessed an affinity for details, exercise and cleanliness. Her three beautiful granddaughters were the light of her life. Planning for holidays and any family gathering gave her and those around her great joy.

Worth, Texas; a sister, June Ward and husband Sam, Conroe, Texas.

Her parents and five of her six siblings preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank her many caregivers, the staff at Rivermont Gardens memory care living facility and LifeSpring Hospice, all of Norman.
