Carol Lavonne Smith married Orvin Truman Lund on 12 Jun 1955 in Hoffman, Grant County, Minnesota. Her parents were Raymond "Boots" Robert Smith and Alice "Pallie" Elizabeth (McCollor) Smith of Stevens County, Minnesota.

"Carol Lund, age 67, of Cibolo, TX passed away on January 3, 2003 in San Antonio, TX. The daughter of Raymond and Alice (Boots and Pallie) Smith was born on July 3, 1935 on a farm in Stevens County, Donnelly, MN. Her childhood was spent on farms in Stevens and Grant counties. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. She attended "one room county schools" until going to high school.
"In 1953, she graduated from Hoffman High School, Hoffman, MN. Shortly after graduation, she was employed as secretary at the Hoffman Schools. On June 12, 1955, she was united in marriage to Orvin T. Lund. In October of 1955, Orvin joined the U.S. Air Force. They spent thirty years traveling where the military sent them - Texas, Minnesota, New Jersey, England, Germany, Michigan, Louisiana,and Alabama. Carol loved the military and always treasured the many friends that they made. She worked for the J.C. Penney Co. for many years, but felt her main profession was to be a good wife and mother.
"Carol is survived by her husband of 47 years, six children and 11 grandchildren, Jeanne and Rob Currie and their children, Lauren and Lindsay of Schertz, TX; Joni Grant and her sons, Jason Bowles and Jordan Grant of Prattville, AL; Julie and Bill Martin and their children, Brandon and Donna of Conway, AR; Jan and Jeff Myers and their children, Jennifer and Chelsea of Chandler, AZ; Jeff and DeNice Lund of Atlanta, GA and Jackie Gammon and her children, Gillian, Gabriel and Gennifer of Prattville, AL; sister. Muriel Krusemark of Prior Lake, MN and brother, Stanley and Elfriede Smith of Hoffman, MN.
"Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at Chapel One - Randolph Air Force Base with Pastor Sam Johns officiating. Committal Services and Internment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, Fort Sam Houston, TX. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society. Arrangement with Schertz Funeral Home."
