Services for Thelma Elizabeth Lawrence, 93, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sulphur United Methodist Church with Dr. Kent D. Marrs and the Rev. Danny Moss officiating. Graveside rites will be 4 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Parsons, Kan.

Born Aug. 23, 1906, at Urbana, Kan., to William and Mary Jane Herndon Smith, she died Oct. 16, 1999, at Sulphur. She married Wilbert L. Lawrence Nov. 28, 1919, at Parsons. He preceded her in death June 1, 1985. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Hubert Dale, Delbert David and Wilbert Allen Lawrence; two brothers, Homer and Earl Smith and one sister, Viola Weaver.

Mrs. Lawrence attended school at Parsons. She was a homemaker and a member of Sulphur United Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and held many church positions.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Vernon E. Lawrence, Sulphur, and Carl W. Lawrence, Ada; one brother O.J. "Joe" Smith, Parsons; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Ron Little, Marshall Singer, Glenn O¹Neill, Nathan Lawrence, Roger Lawrence and Larry Johnson.

Visitation will be 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Clagg Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the United Methodist Church Building Fund.
