Agnes McIntosh Smith, 76, of Connersville, Fayette, In. passed away at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, 1971, at University Hospital in Indianapolis, Marion, In. where she had been a patient for eight weeks.
Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 17, 1894, in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. She was one of many children of Alexander and Agnes McIntosh Gray. She came from Scotland to Connersville in December, 1957, to help care for her Grandchildren after her son-in-law, John Allen Ervine, passed away. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Her husband William Wallace Smith died in 1925, her parents and several siblings also preceded her in death.
Her only survivors are a daughter Mrs. Ina Ervine of Connersville; a brother Walter Gray of Dundee, Scotland; two granddaughters, Mrs. Agnes Short of Greenfield and Mrs. Barbara Robinson of Liberty; four great grandchildren, David, Tracey and Joe Short, and Crystal Robinson. Her fifth great grandchild is due in May.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Myers Funeral Home with Rev. E Duane Aelick officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
