Daughter of Hueston "Hugh" and Rebecca 'Norvell' Smith. Iantha married Ira Ewing Bonds on Aug. 6, 1854 in Sangamon Co., IL. Ira and Jane had 11 children, 8 living by 1900 census.

ONE OF OLDEST RESIDENTS DIES-Mrs. Iantha J. Bonds, 82, Expires.-Mrs. Iantha Jane Bonds, one of oldest residents of Macon county, died at 5:45 Saturday morning at her home in Long Creek Township. She was eighty-two years old last May. Her death was caused by Bright's disease. Mrs. Bonds was born May 24, 1834. She had lived in Long Creek township for many years and was well known there. Her husband has been dead several years. Mrs. Bonds was a member of the Methodist church at Long Creek. She is survived by the following children: Frank Bonds and William Bonds of Long Creek, Mrs. Mary Roberts of Decatur, Mrs. Rebecca Davidson of Casner, Donald Bonds of Oklahoma and Mrs. Edith Richardson of Joplin, Mo. The funeral will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Methodist church in Long Creek.

The funeral of Mrs. Iantha Jane Bonds was held at 3 o'clock Sunday after noon at the Methodist church in Long Creek. There was a large attendance. The services were conducted by Rev. Charles Heckel. The music was furnished by a quartet composed by Mrs. Cloid Bonds, Miss Lena Sanders, Howard Winings and Horace Winings. The flowers were in charge of Miss Dot Bonds and Mrs. Lena Tucker. The pallbearers were Clyde Bonds, Cloid Bonds, Russell Merritt, Granver Bonds, Lester Bonds and B. Tucker. The interment was in the Point Pleasant cemetery.
