Albertine Smith married John Entler August 24, 1848 in Clark County, Ohio. She was 19 at the time, and should have needed her parent/guardian consent, but no one is mentioned as giving consent. Some researchers think her father may have been Thomas Smith.
To this union were born,
William James Entler 1849 – 1931
Thomas B. Entler 1851 – 1936
Albertine's husband served in Company G, Illinois 10th Infantry Regiment on 27 Sept 1864. Mustered out on 29 May 1865. While he served less then 1 year, he was taken sick with malarial fever and was sent by vessel to New York City, where he was in the hospital about three months and was discharged in June, 1865, but was ill for a longtime after he reached home. While his service is noted, this is also her narrative and deserves inclusion.
