Myrtle Smith Cudd, 77, widow of H.C. Cudd of 209 Harwood Heights, Union, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Cudd was born in Union, Jan. 27, 1922, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lizzie Greer Smith. She was retired from Graham Cash Co. and a member of First Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday School in the preschool department for a number of years. Mrs. Cudd was a former G.A. leader with the church and a member of the Bethany Sunday School Class. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, two sisters, a brother, four grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church by the Rev. Joseph W. Smith. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home and placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday to await the hour of service. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the burial. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 405 E. Main St., Union, S.C. 29379. The family is at the home, 209 Harwood Heights, Union. S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home.
