MaryJo Ann Carnahan
MaryJo Ann Carnahan, 82, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Mifflinburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009.
Jo was the daughter of the late Eleanor Harry Reynolds Smith and George Smith. She was married for 64 years to Robert E. Carnahan who survives.
She was a member of Epiphany Lutheran Church of Colonial Park.
Jo enjoyed knitting, cooking, playing Pinochle, antiquing and volunteering at her church.
Jo was a loving wife, grandmother and great-grandmother who was a kind and gentle woman and will be enormously missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney E. and Susan Carnahan and four grandchildren, Andrea Pierson, Heather Leis, Jessica Knight and Ryan Carnahan and his wife, Joy; one daughter and son-in-law, Elli and Louis Colón and granddaughter, Joele Criswell and great-grandson, Renny.
The family would like to thank Pinnacle Hospice, members of her church family and friends and neighbors for their gracious and overwhelming love and support.
There will be a viewing from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 1100 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, followed by a funeral service at 11, with Pastor Patrick Wirick, Jr., officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church social hall.
Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Mifflinburg Cemetery.
