MIFFLINBURG: Beulah S. Blosser, 87, of 497 Beaver Road, most recently of RiverWoods, Lewisburg, entered into eternal rest at 7:56 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She had lived in Limestone Township, Union County, since 1965 and before that in Harrisonburg, Va.
She was born July 16, 1919, in Fairview, Okla., a daughter of the late Daniel and Katie (Knightdale) Smith. As a young girl, she lived with her parents in the Fairview community, where she received her formal education. At the age of 14, she felt the Lord's call and felt a need for a Savior. Upon a true repentance and sorrow for her sins, she found forgiveness and peace with God. On Feb. 15, 1933, upon her faith, she was baptized into the Church of God in Christ Mennonite by Minister Frank Haynes. She loved the Lord and remained faithful to Him until He took her home.
On Dec. 25, 1946, in Fairview, she was joined in holy matrimony to Abraham Blosser, who passed away on Oct. 20, 2004.
She was a member of Morningstar Congregation of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Mifflinburg. While living in Virginia, she was a member of the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, in the Harrisonburg area.
Mrs. Blosser was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, Dan J. Blosser of Mifflinburg and Dale L. and Cathy A. Blosser of Winfield; one grandson, Daylin Paul Blosser of Winfield; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Norma Unrue of Montezuma, Kan., Vada Ensz of Inman, Kan., and Geneva and Duane Smith of Liberal, Kan.; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Waymon and Charity Smith of Florida and Dan "Junior" and Joyce Smith of Lakin, Kan.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Church of God in Christ, Mennonite, Morningstar Congregation, Beaver and Mensch roads, Mifflinburg, where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday with John M. Kurtz, her pastor, and Sherrill Esau, a visiting clergyman from Kansas, officiating.
Interment will be in Church of God in Christ Mennonite Cemetery, Limestone Township, Union County.
Arrangements are entrusted to Schwartz-Adamo Funeral and Cremation Services, 247 Chestnut St., Mifflinburg.
