Mrs. Benjamin Carson, 89, died at her home on Centennial St., in Fairfield at 3:15 Wednesday afternoon. She was a native of Fairfield and had resided in this county all of her life.
She was the former Catherine Smith, the last of the family of William and
Mary Barbara Woodring Smith, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Fairfield.
She is survived by 69 direct descendants, eight children, 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
The children are; Robert h, Mrs. Lillian Pryor, Mrs. Minnie Gantz and Raymond L, Waynesboro; Earl G, Fairfield R1; Mrs. Kathryn Kelly, Taneytown; Miss Myrtle E and Miss Hazel E, both of Fairfield.
Funeral services Sunday afternoon at 3:00 at the Wilson Funeral Home in Fairfield with her pastor, the Rev. Otto Kroeger, officiating, assisted by Vicar John Luaffer. Interment in Fairfield Union Cemetery.
