Kathleen Ann (Smith) Rankins, 53, of Wagoner died Friday, Mary 31, 1996. She was born May 15, 1943, in Buffalo, New York to Joe Henry and Louise E. (Dawn) Smith. Kathleen married Fred Ranks on January 20, 1962, in Los Angeles, California. She was baptized in the Lakeview Baptist Church in Tulsa and attended Lakeview Cathedral Church in Wagoner.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Smith, and her grandparents, Kathleen and Frank Jankowskie. She enjoyed painting ceramics when her health allowed her and dearly loved her husband, children, and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Rankins of the home; three sons, Fred Rankins, Jr., and Joe Henry Rankins both of Wagoner, and Rodney Leach of Stilwell; three daughters, Katherine Weeden, Lora Jean Pedro and Wanda Fay West, all of Wagoner; her father, Joe Henry Smith of Sapulpa; a brothers, Charles W. Martin of Sapulpa; a sister, Dandy LeeAnn Martin of Tulsa; nine grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 3, 1996, in the Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Brown officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Wesley Pedro, Brad West, Gene Hathcoat, Willy Weeden, Bruce Klein and Harold Ode. Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery under direction of Hersman-Nichols Funeral Home.
