Funeral service for Margaret Marie Fletcher, age 90, of Chickasha, OK, will be held at McRay Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Scott Kenneda will officiate.
Margaret was born the daughter of Nile Smith and Annette Timken Smith on March 25, 1923 in Verden, OK. She died on September 1, 2013 in Chickasha.
Margaret went to church and was baptized at an early age at the Lutheran church in Chickasha and as a teenager was confirmed in the same church. In 1941 she was married to Vernie Fletcher in Verden. At that time she transferred her church membership to Dutton Methodist Church. When it closed she moved her membership to the Verden United Methodist church. She later moved her membership to Epworth United Methodist Church in Chickasha, where she remained a member. Margaret and Vernie had two children, Pamela Perry in 1947 and Vicki McCollom in 1953. In 2003 she moved from Chickasha to McLoud, OK, then returned to Chickasha in January, 2013.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nettie and Nile Smith; daughter Vicki McCollom; and two brothers Ross Smith and Dale Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Perry of Newalla, OK; two sisters, Lois Ulrich of Turlock, CA and Barbara Langston of Newport News, VA; brother George Smith of Malpitos, CA.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery north of Pocasset, OK. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
