Mildred Louise Smith and Carroll Kent Crews were married May 24, 1947 in Clayton, Adams County, Illinois. They lived at 18 East 10th Street, Fulton, Missouri most of their married life.
She was born March 4, 1919, in Clayton, Illinois, the third child of Roscoe Milem and Ida Adelle (Hough) Smith. Her mother and father were born in Adams County, Illinois and Keokuck, Iowa, respectivly.
Mildred and Carroll had two daughters, Sarah Jane Crews who married Richard Erik Beyer and Carolyn Louise Crews who married andolph Lee Hodill. They also had four granddaughters.
Mildred attended the Clayton, Illinois schools where she was high school valedictorian, Culver-Stockton College and the Blessing School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse, having served in Illinois and Missouri. She has done volunteer work with the American Red Cross and the Girl Scouts. Mildred was a member of the DAR, where she was chairperson for U.S.A. Constitution Week for six years. She was also a member of the Womans Club of in Fulton, Church Women United in Missouri, Fulton Study Club, National Sorority of Alpha Xi Delta, Beta Nu Chapter (Charter Member).
