84, of Yarmouthport died after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Leighton M. Cozart, who died in 1975.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, Mrs. Cozart was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Margaret (Reid) Smith. She graduated from Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH and pursued a career with the government in Washington, DC as secretary to a senator from Texas during the 1940's.
Mrs. Cozart made San Antonio, TX her home for 27 years until she retired to Little River, SC, where she enjoyed golfing.
She moved to Yarmouthport, MA in 2004 to be closer to her sisters and family. She was a member of the Mah-Jongg group at King's Way in Yarmouthport and enjoyed the friendships, competition and acceptance from her new friends.
She is survived by three sisters, Margaret V. of Searsport, ME, Louise "Lulu" of Orleans, MA, and Marlene S. of Plymouth, MA, her life-long friend, Glenna of Little River, SC; and many nieces and nephews who will remember her love and generosity.
She was predeceased by her brother, Charles E. Smith, Jr. and her nephew, Peter Schatzle.
