Susan P. (Smith) Goodwin, of Weymouth, died Jan. 6, 2012, after a courageous battle with cancer. Susan grew up in Quincy and attended North Quincy High School and Bridgewater State College. She worked at NFPA in Quincy for 15 years. Susan married Bob Goodwin and they raised their family in Weymouth. Susan was involved in the activities of her children and they enjoyed camping and following all of the childrens athletic events. Susan was employed in the food service division of the Weymouth Public Schools. Susan was blessed to have the friendship and love of wonderful family members and countless friends. Susan lost her battle with cancer after a valiant effort. She always maintained her courage and hope throughout her illness. Beloved wife and best friend of 28 years to Robert A. Goodwin. Devoted mother of Robert A. Goodwin Jr., N.P.D, of Nashua, NH, Dana G. Goodwin and Jenna L. Goodwin, both of Weymouth. Step-mother of Terri (Goodwin) Reilly and her husband Stephen of Weymouth. Cherished grandmother of James, Madison and Jackson. Susan leaves her dear sisters, Diane Smith of Weymouth and Nancy Smith of Walpole; Joan Carr Smith of Quincy, wife of the late Dana P. Smith, Susans Dad. Susan is also predeceased by her loving mother, Patricia Geary Smith. Sister in-law of Donna Russell and daughter-in-law of Gilbert and Dorothy Goodwin of Cape Cod. Dear niece of Edward Smith of Weymouth. Also survived by many cousins. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, South Weymouth, at 809 Main St., (Rte. 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.), Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
