James F. Smith, 69, of Braintree passed away Oct. 25, 2014 at the South Shore Hospital. Beloved husband of Kathleen (Casey) to whom he was married to for 40 years. Loving father of Kathleen Smith, William Smith and Patricia Brennan and her husband Thomas all of Braintree. Dear grandfather of Dominick, Zacory, Tucker and Ezri. Brother of Patricia Camik of Ohio, Donna Rupert of Quincy and the late Joseph, Wayne and William Smith. Born and raised in Boston Jim had been a resident of Braintree for the past 28 years. He had worked as a truck driver for 18 years for Lechmere in Dedham retiring in 1998. Jim was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion Post 86 and he loved to play chess and cook. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, at 9 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rte. 37), Braintree Wednesday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery. -
