Ethel Smith Rites Friday at Douglass
Douglass, Kan - Mar. 4.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Dora Smith, 68, of Douglass, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the First Methodist Church, C. W. Coody, pastor of the First Church of God, Arkansas City, Kan., will officate, assisted by Rev. Kark Magnusson, paster of the First Methodist Church of Douglass. Burial will be in Douglass Cemetery. Hilyard funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Smith died Tuesday night at her home. Death was attributed to a heart attack. She was born July 3, 1884, at Douglass, and had lived in this community all her life. She was married to Charles Smith, who survives her.
Other Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Benge, Arkansas City; Mrs. Lawrence Cox, 3077 South Davison, Wichita, and Mrs. Audrey Glaves, Douglass; a son, J.T. Smith of Douglass; three sisters, Mrs. John Knollenberg, Douglass; Mrs. Newt Dennett of Augusta, and Mrs. Hiram Lackey of Rose Hill; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
