Stanley P. Smith, died on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Bethany Home in Minden, NE. Stanley was born on January 20, 1924 near Upland, NE. to Harvey G. and Nettie (Holmquist) Smith.
Stanley grew up in the Upland, NE. area and graduated from Upland (NE.) High School in 1940. Stanley attended Air Conditioner Training Corp in Youngstown, OH. He returned to the Upland, NE. area and farmed. On May 29,1944 he married Corella Heinrich and they lived and farmed south of Norman, NE. In 1982 he semiretired and they moved into Minden, NE. Stanley was a member of the United Methodist Church in Minden, NE. and the Kearney (NE.) Elks. They enjoyed dancing, traveling and playing cards. He also enjoyed following his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their activities.
Survivors are: wife, Corella Smith of Minden, NE.; daughter, LouEtta Lacher and husband, John of Yorba Linda, CA.; sons, LaMoine Smith and wife, Mary of Minden, NE. and Neil Smith and wife, Lynn of Blair, NE.; grandchildren, Daren Lacher and wife, Heather, Brent Lacher and wife, Pam, Abbey Rupe and husband, Chris, Jessica Smith, Sarah Smith, Calli Hite and husband, Jeremy, Riley Smith, Connor Smith and Haley Smith; step-grandchildren, Sydney Kobza and husband, Tony, Molly Mroczek and Adam Mroczek; great grandchildren, Avery, Brady and Finley Lacher, Katelynand Colin Rupe and Graeme Hite; step brothers, Wayne Olson of Minden, NE. and Willard Olson and wife, Ethel of Minden, NE.
