David M. Smith, 77 of Swainsboro, died Monday in a Milledgeville hospital after an extended illness. He was the son of the late David Harrison Smith and Mary Ann Abiella Hooks. Survivors are his wife, the former Bina Davis, of Swainsboro; five daughters, Mrs. Ellic White of Savannah, Mrs. Dan Woods of Swainsboro, Mrs C. R. Futloz of Charleston SC, Mrs. Frank Bailey of Buford SC and Mrs. Howard Wiggins of Savannah; three sons, David H. Smith of Swainsboro, Hoke Smith of NY, B. M. Davis of Savannah; on step-daughter Alma Smith of Savannah; two sisters Mrs. F. W. Strickland of Savannah and Mrs. Maxie Lively of Swainsboro; three brothers, Tom Smith of Swainsboro; Jim and Preston Smith both of Orland, Fla. Burial in Spring Hill Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Emanuel County.
