Elizabeth Smith Cannon, 88, widow of Clarence Tipton "Rip" Cannon , died Feb. 29, 2008. She was the first secretary of Crestwood Church and retired after 26 years and formerly was a teller with the Bank of Maysville. Born in Maysville, KY daughter of Thomas Nelson Smith, DDS and Mabel Scott Smith. Member of Crestwood Christian Church and the Junior League of Maysville. Surviving family includes two daughters, Jane Pickett Cannon, Fayetteville, Ga., and Helen C. "Tippy" Wallace and her husband Scott, Elburn, Il., grandchildren, Kimberlee Cannon (Michael) Wright, Kelly Marie Gray, Adam Holman (Kristine) Wallace and Walter S. "Chip" Wallace; great-grandchildren, Michael David Wright, Jr., Caroline Cannon Wright and Caeden Thomas Wallace, niece Elizabeth Ann Slagle. Service 11:00 am Monday Crestwood Christian Church. Visitation 3-6 pm Sun W.R. Milward-Southland. Casketbearers Ted Vimont, Arny Stromberg, Adam Wallace, Chip Wallace, Michael Wright and Joe Henry. Memorials Crestwood Christian Church or Hospice of the Bluegrass.
