Miss Myra Ethel Smith was born to Theodore W. and Isora B. Smith. She had one sibling, Charles L. Smith. The family moved from Iowa to Omaha, Nebraska by the 1900 Federal Census. Father Theodore was a teamster in Iowa, and was a carpenter after the move to NE.
Myra's first and middle names are transposed in some reference materials, but Myra Ethel is found most frequently. Miss Myra married Allen Cecil Scott, an up-and-coming merchant and inventor. It is estimated that the couple married about 1906-1907.
They adopted a daughter, Jane Elizabeth. Sadly, Myra died in February 1921 at age 38. One source quotes Myra's date of death as 28 Feb, 1919. However, she is present in the household on 15 June 1920 for the Federal Census, and her parents are also living in the Scott household at that time.
Allen Scott remarried on 21 May 1921 to Gladys Thornton and the couple had two daughters.
