Three aerial victories. Hometown: Bluefield, VA 13 Sept 44 Aircraft struck in the engine and cockpit by 20mm flak while strafing airdome at Schwaebisch Hall-Hessental, Germany. Aircraft was seen to pull up to 400ft and then roll over on its back and fly into the ground, exploding on impact. Decorations: Distinguished Flying Cross (3OLC), Air Medal (3OLC) Purple Heart
