Married Samuel Harvey Elliott on Jan. 1, 1846 in a double wedding with Benjamin Dygert and Phoebe Ann Carpenter at the farm that Joshua Carpenter, Phoebe's father had purchased the year before.

The two families established homes within one-half mile of each other, living there continuously for nearly fifty years. Plans were laid for a double golden wedding which could not be carried out on account of the death of Mr. Elliott only a few months previous to the anniversary day.
