Esther M. Dehoff, 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 26, 2009, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home. She was the wife of Leo C. Dehoff, who died January 21, 1998.
Mrs. Dehoff was born June 30, 1914, in Craley.
She was the daughter of the late Isaac and Alice C. (Fregm) Smeltzer.
Mrs. Dehoff was a life time member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dallastown. She was the founder of the Society of Farm Women #9 and the first president of the group, and she was the last surviving member of the original membership. She was a 1932 graduate of William Penn Senior High School.
Surviving are a son, David L. Dehoff and his wife, Julia of Seven Valleys; three daughters, Dixie L. Shue and her husband, M. Edward of Dallastown, Ann Simcik and her husband, William of Reading, and Carolyn Schultz and her husband, John of Anchorage, Alaska. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Dehoff was predeceased by one son, Bradley L. Dehoff and his wife, Cynthia (Ausherman) Dehoff.
Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
