Jamie M. Smeltzer, of East Berlin, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly November 27, 2008, as the result of an automobile accident.

He was the loving son of Brian P. and Andrea L. (Barnett) Smeltzer of East Berlin.

Jamie was a Bermudian Springs High School sophomore and member of the varsity wrestling team. At 6' 1/2" and 268 pounds with a trusting and lovable personality, "he was like a 'big teddy bear' who was loving and would do anything for anybody," said his mother.

He had a passion for four-wheeling and was also a member of his school's Future Farmers of America and planned a future career in diesel mechanics. Jamie helped with the PMTA Truck Driving Rodeo, and enjoyed hanging out with his friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Lauren R. Smeltzer of East Berlin; maternal grandparents, Jeffrey and Deanna Barnett of Manchester, MD; paternal grandmother, IsoDean J. Smeltzer of Shrewsbury; an uncle, Charles Shupe of Westminster, MD; an aunt, IsoDean Mitzel of Shrewsbury; several other aunts, uncles and cousins and many dear friends.
