Daisy May Bierman, daughter of John and Betty Smedley, was born April 4, 1888 on a farm 4 miles southeast of Agra, Kans., and departed from this life at the St. Joseph hospital in Concordia, Kans., Dec. 5, 1955 at the age of 67 years, 8 months and 1 day.
..Mrs. Bierman lived all her life on the farm on which she was born and received her formal schooling at the school one mile south of the home place.
..In 1906 she united with the Christian church and has since remained a loyal and faithful worker in her Lord's Kingdom. She was a charter member of the Missionary Society of the Agra Christian church. She also taught a Bible school class for many years and was active in the choir as long as she was able.
..Mrs. Bierman cared for her parents during their last illiness. She went with her father to Colorado Springs to care for him when he received treatment there and later cared for her mother during her remaining years of life.
..Mrs. Bierman was an active member of the L. L. club of Kirwin, until that club disbanded.
..On Febr. 25, 1914, she married Albert H. Bierman. One son, Rex O., was born to them. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother throughout her married life.
..She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, and her infant daughter.
..Besides leaving her loving husband, son and daughter-in-law to mourn her passing, she leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins, and a great many friends who will miss her greatly.
..Funeral services were held at the Agra Christian church, Thursday, Dec. 8 at 2 p.m., with Rev. F. M. McDonald and Rec. D. G. vonForell officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs. Opal Scanlan, Mrs. Clara Dean, Gayle McCord and Carroll Kirkendall, with Lois McCord, accompanist.
..Casket bearers were: Walter Grauerholz, Joe Rose, Clarence Smith, Wilbur Norden, Ivan DuBois, Eldon Walter, Harry Scanlan and Harry Dean. Flower bearers were Mrs. Martin Rahjes, Mrs. John Rahjes, Mrs. Warren Miller, Mrs. Floyd Norden, Mrs. Cecil DuBois, Mrs. Martin Oliva, Mrs. Wayne Schoeni, Mrs. Wilbur Lala and Miss Nona Scott. Interment was in Olive Branch cemetery.
