41 yr. old wife, Leah M. Sloan, b. in IN.
Charles and Leah married in 1899 and had been married for one year. They had not yet had any children.
Living next door to them, were Charles' parents,
66 yr. old Austin E. Sloan, a farmer, b. Mar. 1834 in OH.
64 yr. old Harriett Sloan, b. Jan., 1836 in NY
and Charles' 30 yr. old sister, Martha Sloan, b. Mar. 1870 in OH.
Austin & Harriet married in 1860 and had been married for 40 years. Harriet was the mother of three children, two of whom were still alive by this census.

In the 1910 U.S. census, 9 yr. old Heloise Sloan, b. in CA., was living in Lexington (El Monte Twp.), L.A. Co., CA.

Former Arcadian Has Exhibit On la Cienega
Glenn Berry, former Arcadian, has an art show opening tomorrow in Ankum Gallery, 657 N. La Cienega, Los Angeles. The exhibit will run to April 6 and consists of paintings and drawings.
Mr. Berry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. Franklin Berry of Arcadia. He attended Arcadia elementary school before the family moved to Santa Barbara. He received his BA in 1951 from Pomona College, his BFA and MFA from the School of Art Institute in Chicago. He is presently associate professor of art at Humboldt State College in Arcata.
