Born in Wilmington, NC, Mary was a daughter of the late Mary Douglas Council Sloan and George Sloan, Sr. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth "Bill" Brown , Sr., and a granddaughter, Krystal Brown , as well as one sister and two brothers. Mary was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Florence, and was a faithful member for over 50 years, where she also taught Sunday school. Mary was retired from the City of Florence.
