Daughter of Elmer Ellsworth and Musadora Hannah (Mason) Callahan.
She married Paris Slaughter on October 23, 1912 and had 8 children.

From The Indianapolis Star - Friday, October 15, 1976:

"Services for Mrs. Ina M. Slaughter, 85, 4822 East 11th Street, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Flanner and Buchanan Fall Creek Mortuary, with burial in Washington Park East Cemetery. She died Wednesday in Community Hospital. A lifelong Indianapolis resident, she was a file clerk for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles for 11 years, retiring in 1960. Mrs. Slaughter was a member of Seventh and Eighth United Christian Church, a 55-year member of the Mothers Social Club and a 50-year member of North Park Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include six daughters. Mrs. Eugene (Mildred) Combs of Corona, Calf.; Mrs. Helen Gemeiner of Tea Ticket, Mass.; Mrs. Carl (Hildred) Townsend of Glendale, Ariz.; Mrs. Charles (Ruth) Kirk and Mrs. Carl (Marie) McDaniel, both of Indianapolis, and Miss Bertha Slaughter. She was the widow of Paris Slaughter."
